Become a Community Borrower

The Mott Library supports the programs, courses of study and the research needs of the students, faculty and staff of Mott Community College, while also providing reading materials for continuing education and enjoyment.

Residents of Genesee County, who are 18 years of age or older, may apply for a Community Borrower Card with limited circulation privileges.  A valid federal or state photo ID displaying the current address is required for registration. Weekend applications will be processed during normal business hours the following week. The library card is valid for one year.

Registered Community Borrowers in good standing with the college are eligible for the following privileges:

  • Loan of up to 2 books (at any given time) from the regular circulating collection located on the 2nd floor for a loan period of three weeks, with the possibility of 1 renewal of three weeks (with certain limitations).
  • In-library use of library materials, including periodicals, reference, children's literature and the Friends' collection.

Community Borrowers must present picture ID and Community Borrower card to check out materials and/or receive computer access.
