If you’re driven to succeed, and want to earn credits in just three weeks, we invite you to enroll in a course for the Mott Mini-Mester.

The Mini-Mester is an accelerated term (intersession) offered from December 23, 2024 to January 9, 2025. The Mini-Mester is open to current and guest students, and courses are taught entirely online.

Section offerings for the Mini-Mester are general education courses in humanities, math, and social sciences.

Mott Mini-Mester is a three-week accelerated term offering a variety of general education courses that can help students achieve their educational goals faster.

A student who is currently enrolled in classes at MCC.

A student who is currently enrolled at another college or university seeking to earn credits at MCC.

  1. Add the Mini-Mester course to your timeline in MyBackpack.
  2. Submit with the "Request Review" button to alert your Assigned Advisor that you are requesting course approval.
  3. Once your course is approved, select the section you wish to register for and complete your registration.
  4. Ensure that you've secured a method of payment.

  1. Go to the "Course Catalog: Advance Search" in MyBackpack
  2. Choose Winter 2025 for term, 12/23/2024 for the Meeting Start Date, and 01/09/2025 for the Meeting End Date.
  3. Submit the query with the "Search" button at the bottom of the form.

All classes are offered online, which means you will access them through Canvas Learning Management System.

Payment is due at the time of registration to avoid classes being dropped. Payment plans are available. If you have any questions, please call (810)762-0200.

For MCC students, Mini-Mester classes are part of the winter semester and will be used to determine your class load for Winter. If you have any questions, please call the Financial Aid Office at (810)762-0144.

Financial aid may be available to guest students. A guest student's financial aid eligibility is determined at their home school. Please reach out to the Financial Aid, or appropriate office, at the home institution to determine if aid can be used.

Dual-enrolled students should consult their high school counselor/advisor regarding eligibility.

Students are limited to one course during the Mini-Mester.
