Creating and Facilitating Support

The Student Champion is a student leadership position that helps the Family Life Center assist in the accessing of support and resources for member of Mott Community College. This position serves to help create and facilitate support resources for special populations, faculty and staff. A student champion will help facilitate activities and events sponsored by the Family Life Center.

Working Conditions

The role is up to 19 hours per week, hours are flexible. Student champions are required to complete and attend meetings as designated and events as outlined below.

Duties, responsibilities and expectations

Uphold the values, goals and practices of Mott Community College and the Lenore Croudy Family Life Center. Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and promotion of Family Life Events. Develop, organize, and execute events for the Family Life Center Think of ideas on how to improve and grow engagement the Family Life Center Assist & Plan initiatives to promote the programs and services provided at the Family Life Center Identify new initiatives and areas of improvement for the Family Life Center. Attend and Engage at Family Life Center events Be a positive representative of Family Life Center.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a current MCC Student, representing what it means to be a Mott student. Someone that has a passion for promoting support and resources for student and assisting with the development of the Family Life Center to help members of the Mott community. The candidate must be positive, spirited and an ambitious self-starter as well as passionate, energetic and outgoing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach Self-directed starter and resourceful Highly organized with excellent attention to detail Demonstrated ability to function in a multi-tasking environment and interact in a highly professional manner. Experience with diverse populations considered an asset Strong Communication Skills Personal willingness and ability to adapt behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions or unexpected obstacles.
