On Thursday, January 13, the 43rd Annual Citywide Virtual Tribute Event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was held. Keynote Address by the State of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. A former criminal prosecutor and civil rights attorney, Dana Nessel was sworn in as Michigan’s 54th Attorney General on January 1, 2019.
The Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Retiree Awards Ceremony was held November 4th and honored alumni Dr. D. Elizabeth Jordan, Carol Todd Robinson and Dr. Joseph L. Wilson, along with retiree Jennie Welliver, M.A.
Alexander Zonjic and Friends performed at The Whiting along with the MCC Jazz Band on November 2.
The community and MCC celebrated the 7 directions and energies. The ceremonial dancing was led by Wayne Wilson of the Folded Arms Clan.
Students visited tables by The Foundation for MCC/Alumni Association and the Women In Education Initiative, receiving information and entering drawings.
On September 15th, the Women In Education Perfecting the Mentoring Connection virtual talk show held a virtual Empowering Women/Mentoring Workshop with mentor Jennifer Tremaine of Real Living Real Estate and mentee Cortney Edwards.
The Lenore Croudy Family Life Center Grand Opening was held on August 31, 2021 at 10 a.m. and included two ribbon cutting ceremonies.
