Every year The Foundation and the Women In Education program celebrates its graduating Fellows. This year’s event was held at the Flint Golf Club on 6/4/15. Graduating WIE Fellows were: Tamara Chambers, Casey Hawkins, Marissa Klein, Faylena Morris, Kimberly Pentecost and Loretta Walker.
Mott, Motown & More “Uptown Funk” Lip Sync Performances were held on 5/28 and 5/29/15 to a sold out crowd. The 5/28 performance included an Alumni & Friends Reception prior to the showing. The 5/29 performance included its traditional VIP Reception at intermission. The event netted $13,476.
The 3rd annual Friends of MCC Update Breakfast was held on 5/21/15 with over 130 people in attendance. The event raised $14,140.
On 5/14/15, a tribute to the Honorable Dale E Kildee was held at the Flint Golf Club. “Red, White & Blue True” was the theme in honor of this esteemed gentleman with over 36 years of service to his constituents. The event raised over $14,000 after expenses.
An Art Reception of student work was held at the Visual Arts & Design Center on May 8 – alumni, donors and friends joined in.
The installation of MCC's new president, Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea, was held on May 2, 2015.
On 4/16/14, the first gathering of alumni from FJC/FCC/GCC/MCC located in Arizona was held at the Tempe Center for the Arts.
On 4/14/15, MCC held a jazz concert, which was followed by an alumni and friends reception.
On 4/9/15 a Donor/Student Scholarship Recipient Meet & Greet was held, providing a great opportunity for donors to meet some of the students they help through their contributions.
On 4/8/15 a dinner showcasing MCC’s culinary arts program and featuring MCC students Aaron Onweller on guitar, Seth Cunningham on Bassoon and accompanied by faculty member Andrea Floden on piano. The student ambassador for the evening was Brandon Hamilton. Among the dinner guests were several community members, union members, and Board members.
On 3/18/15 dinner showcasing MCC’s culinary arts program and featuring MCC students David McEachern on tuba/euphonium, Shelby Towns on violin, and accompanied by faculty member Andrea Floden; student ambassador Phillip Walker II was on hand to represent MCC and assist guests. Among the dinner guests were several community members and Board members.

On 2/19/15, the MCC Alumni Association and Foundation for MCC, in Celebration of Black History Month presented “A Tribute to My Soul Sisters of Song’’ featuring African-American Cuisine and Cultural Experience with Gwen Pennyman-Hemphill, accompanied by Antwan Kirkland on piano.

In honor of MLK Day, a Movie Night was held featuring “The Last White Knight” at Davenport University, which was well received.
On January 15th, the 36th annual city wide tribute dinner to Martin Luther King, Jr. was held in Flint. “It’s Up to Us to Create a Peaceful and Just Society” was the evening’s title with Rabbi Karen Companez featured as the keynote speaker. The dinner was sponsored by Baker College of Flint, Davenport University, HealthPlus of Michigan, Kettering University, MLive/Flint Journal, Mott Community College, and The University of Michigan-Flint.
A Jazz Band / Steel Drum Band Concert was held followed by an Alumni & Friends Reception.
A Health Care Alumni Reconnection was held at Hurley Medical Center during all three shifts.

The first gathering of alumni from FJC/FCC/GCC/MCC located in Illinois and Wisconsin was held at the Smart Museum of Art.
with Mike Williams, lead trumpet player for the Count Basie Big Band, followed by an Alumni & Friends Reception was held.
On 9/25/14, a Naming Ceremony was held for MCC Student Life Center honoring the generous support of The Foundation for MCC board member Dr. Rajagopal Shantaram and his wife Chandrika. The center was named the G. Radhabai (RA-da-boy) and A.V. Rajagopal (RAJ-a-go-pal) Student Life Center in honor of Dr. Shantaram’s family.
The Foundation for MCC, Alumni Association, and Women In Education (WIE) program sponsored tables at the Student Fall Rally held on 9/24/14. Along with brochures on programs and scholarships available, students were able to catch prizes in a Cash Cube game.
MCC Alumni Association members John Krupp, Marcy Garcia and Sally Shaheen Joseph, JD helps new students find their way on the first day of classes - all a part of the Student Awareness Campaign.
