The MCC Office of Disability Services works collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to create an inclusive educational environment for students. We provide accommodations, services, and auxiliary aids to students with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended (2008) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (1973) which states that, "No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States, as defined in Sec. 705(20) of this title, shall, solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
The MCC Office of Disability Services assists students with all types of disabilities including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, blind/visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing, learning disability, medical or physical impairment, mental health/psychological, and traumatic brain injury.
Individuals seeking additional information are asked to stop by the MCC Office of Disability Services located on the upper level of the Prahl College Center in the Student Success Center room PCC2280. Individuals requesting accommodations are asked to complete an application online or obtain a paper application in-person. Information submitted to the MCC Office of Disability Services is kept confidential and is not part of a student’s academic record. This means that only appropriate employees of the College will have access to the records of a student registered with the MCC Office of Disability Services.
