Helen Juanita Ham

Ms. Ham is the oldest student ever to have graduated from MCC. At age 86 she is a recent 2004 graduate. Helen received her teaching certification and is using this as a foundation for pursuing her teaching degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. As she continues her studies she is also tutoring urban Flint students. Ms. Ham exemplifies the life-long learner. She is an inspiration to people of all ages and backgrounds. Her accomplishments touch the lives of all people.

Juanita passed away in 2010.


William F. Pickard

William F. Pickard

Dr. Pickard is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Global Automotive Alliance, LCC. Dr. Pickard began his 25 years of business in Detroit with a single McDonald’s restaurant. He grew that business as owner and operator to twelve restaurants. In 2002, the Detroit News recognized Dr. Pickard as one of 12 Michiganians of the Year. He was chosen by President Reagan as the first chairman of the African Development Foundation in 1982. He has also served on numerous community and civic Boards of Directors. Dr. Pickard received his PhD from Ohio State University, Masters Degree from the University of Michigan and Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University.


Woodrow “Woody” Skaff

Woodrow Skaff

Mr. Skaff is the retired President of Skaff Carpet and Furniture, a 93 year old, local family retail store. Mr. Skaff has maintained a very active community life in Flint. He is an original 1944 Big Brother and past President of the Big Brothers Organization. He is also past president of the Flint YMCA and has served on the Board of Directors of the NBD Genesee Bank and the Crossover/Downtown Outreach Ministry. Woody is most proud of his achievement in bringing Young Life, an international non-denominational Christian outreach organization for young people to Flint. Since that initial program in the 1960’s hundreds of people have had life-changing experiences.

Woodrow Skaff passed away in 2013.


Honorable Thomas Yeotis

Thomas Yeotis

Judge Yeotis is a retired Genesee County Circuit Court Judge. He was a licensed attorney for 49 years, serving for 32 years as an outstanding judge. He was a founding member twenty-five years ago of New Paths and the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame. Judge Yeotis is also a founder and former president of the MCC Bruin Club. His interest in sports has continued for 60 years as he participated and coached numerous championship church and city league basketball and softball teams. Tom was honored as a C.S. Mott Citizen of the Year by the Flint Area Chamber of Commerce in 2001. This proud alumnus has served on over 30 non-profit community and civic organizations, often as chairman or president.
