Who is Eligible?

All incoming regular students and incoming guest students are eligible if they have not completed a college-level course at MCC or their home institution.

  • Dual enrolled, early, and middle college students are not eligible.
  • Students must enroll in FYEX-101, at least one additional developmental course, and attend career fairs and career counseling.

What is the Summer Academic Acceleration Program?

The Summer Academic Acceleration (SAA) program is a free new program designed to help high school graduates and other incoming students prepare for their first year of college.

During the summer prior to college enrollment, participating students:

  • Complete the

    , in which students learn and apply strategies for adjusting to college and academic performance.
  • Complete at least one additional developmental course, such as:

  • Participate in career fairs and career counseling.
  • Are eligible for student services such as:
    • A student support team including a Financial Aid representative.
    • Food assistance through Lenore Croudy Family Life Center.
    • Transportation assistance.
    • Chromebook access (on loan).
  • Summer spots are limited and filling fast.
  • SAA courses are offered online and in person.
  • The Summer Academic Acceleration Program is FREE for all qualifying students.
