Karen Sleno - Faculty - Mathematics

Karen Sleno has been an adjunct instructor at Mott since 2001. Since that time she has taught a variety of subjects in the math division ranging from Basic College Mathematics through Multivariable Calculus. Additionally, she works at the Math Study Center as a tutor for those needing extra help in their math classes.

Karen also teaches math full time in a local high school where she has worked for 27 years. This experience has allowed her to relate well to students making the transition from high school to college and the issues that may arise. Her range of teaching at this level has included all courses from basic math through AP Calculus and she enjoys advising the math honor society as well as coaching the school's quiz bowl team.

Karen earned her B.S. at Saginaw Valley State University with a double major in Mathematics and English. She then completed her M.A. in Mathematics at Oakland University. She is a Google Certified Educator and a Khan Academy Certified Teacher.
