MCC chef inducted into American Academy of Chefs

Mott Community College Chef Mark Handy was one of 26 chefs inducted into the American Academy of Chefs (ACA), the honorary society of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), at their national convention in Orlando in August. Handy was one of only five chefs inducted into the AAC from the central region of the U.S. this year, and is one of only 20 members from Michigan.

An additional professional certification is also in the works. Handy is working toward certification as an Approved Certification Examiner (ACE). The Mott College Baking and Pastry Arts program has been approval to host culinary and baking and pastry certification practical exams for the American Culinary Federation (ACF), and is now listed on the ACF National Registry for approved testing sites as one of 11 approved sites in the state of Michigan.
